| "Shirley Adams' passion has long been with the fiber arts, which have inspired her several careers. First came many years as a college professor of clothing and textiles. Following this was her television show, The Sewing Connection, which aired on PBS stations throughout the United States, and the Knowledge Network in Canada. Designing fashions for 17 seasons resulted in a vast pattern collection for fashion sewing where engineer's mind meets artist's soul. Currently, her fiber artistry includes framed abstracts and bags, each unique and hand made by Shirley. These abstracts represent an image or emotion that captured her imagination." | |

I founded Nan's Eggart in 1975 to make durable heirlooms from real eggshells. Eggs for our use are produced from birds fed a special calcium diet to assure the highest quality shell in terms of thickness and shape. A high speed tool is used for cutting to reduce torque and thus prevent shattering. Shells are then treated with a liquid polymer to strengthen and preserve their natural beauty. The finest trims are then used to pay tribute to Faberge's creations. The picture frame pop up (right) is housed in Faberge' reproduction of his 'Blue Enameled Ribbon' using goose shell. |

My art ranges from decorative wall sculptures and functional furniture pieces to humorous characters ranging from tiny two-inch bugs to six-foot tall robots. My wife, Lynne, and I collaborate to create the designs for welded art pieces as well. I have displayed sculptures at a café in Indianapolis, in art shows, recycling exhibits, and currently have pieces on consignment at galleries in Broad Ripple & Brownsburg. I enjoy seeing others react to my work and I am delighted when I can bring a smile to someone's face. Many of my favorite pieces continue to make me smile each time I see them! | |

My art medium is photography. I grew up taking pictures from an early age. I moved to 35 mm when my children were babies, because I wanted good pictures. I consider myself a mid life artist. An acute illness forced me to give up my nursing career sooner than I planned and slowed me down. As therapy I began to design flower gardens and landscape our 11 acres. As I began to journal the process with my camera, I began to see so much more than mere flowers. I saw the artistic elements coming out in my photos. It is at this time that I switched to digital, began to "play" with Photoshop Elements and my creative juices began to flow. I have studied Photoshop Elements to be able to dig deep into its capabilities to enhance my artwork. I wanted more lenses and a good flash. My husband said I needed to make some money. Here sat all of these creations in my computer. My business was born. It would have been so much cheaper to have bought the lenses and flash, but here I am. |
