Theresa "Tree" Groth
Wood Sculpture / Paint
-
Theresa Groth is an Indiana-based wood sculptor and painter who specializes in abstract and nature-themed works. She is reinventing herself in Indianapolis as Fine Art by Tree, with works inspired by nature, her abusive marriage, addiction, and journey through recovery. She has been a homemaker for the last nine years, but has had a passion for the arts since she was a child. Tree has found her way back to the arts in her adult years and encourages people to touch her sculptural pieces and feel the quality and capacity of work that goes into the wood. Previously featured in The Republic, Woodworkers Journal, and Indianapolis Monthly, she has also juried into Indiana Artisan and Penrod. In 2024 she showed works at the Marilyn Rose Center, Speedway Artist Collective on Main, Cain’s Creative Chaos, Third Floor Gallery, Down the Hall Gallery, and the Magpie Gallery. And in June 2025, she became “First Lady” of the Hendricks County Arts Collective.
